Are you ready yet??
I've recently started developing my own Drupal sites using Jake's Omega theme as the basis. It's a terrific framework with a load of powerful options, and a it's real pleasure to work with as a designer. Creating and customizing a sub-theme has been quick and easy for me... and I am relatively new to Drupal development. The exciting part is that I've been able to do so much with it already, and I've barely scratched the surface with all that's built into it. I strongly recommend trying it if you are a Drupal developer looking for a solid theme to build on.
I just wanted to let you know we've built quite a few sites using omega - its now the only way we build sites and its been awesome. During our last project I estimated that it saves us about 20 hours per project, and that doesn't take into account the trouble-shooting time when things don't quite work out as planned.
Where omega shines once you have a workflow in place is how easy the psd-to-drupal process becomes. It also makes it easy to get a rough site concept together for a client within mere hours.
